Hello!

My name is Jani. I was born 31 years ago at Kuusankoski, Finland. I graduated as M.Sc. in 2003 from LUT, Dept. of Information Technology, where I majored in Data Communications.

My M.Sc. thesis was called “Adding Value to Message Mediation in Multioperator MMS Network Architecture”. The secrecy period of three years ended at 11th of February 2006 so now I’m free to publish the thesis.

I’m currently working as a consultant at TietoEnator in Kista, near Stockholm. I’m also pretending to be a post-graduate student at LUT, concentrating in key management issues in ad-hoc networks.

The book I last read and which I can recommend was Bagnall, Brian: On the Edge, The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore.

I have strong interest in art, artificial intelligence, peer-to-peer networks, evolutionary and biomimetic algorithms and design, emergence in complex systems, cybernetics and various things dealing with cryptology, game theory, and so on.

I like to cook experimental vaguely Asian food, and occasionally something normal too.

I’m the author of Zenburn, a colorscheme for the Vim editor.

I’ve been a member in The Planetary Society for many years. I’m also a member in EFFI (kind of like Finnish EFF) and FUUG.
